> The Bulletin calls her Miss Swindell. The Calgary Daily Herald, in a transcription of its April 30 coverage preserved on her WikiTree profile, calls her Miss Swindells, with the s, which is also how the cemetery register and the city directory have her. The Vulcan Advocate, on May 12, calls her “Miss May Windell,” which loses her a whole syllable.
Hmm, I count Swindells and Windell as both having two syllables. Also, LLM's are notoriously poor at counting syllables. I hate that I'm suspicious, but it does make me suspicious. Or am I the one unable to count syllables?

I think it’s referring to “May”, as her name was most certainly Mary.

I read to the end. One of the loveliest research pieces I've ever come across. Thank you to whomever submitted it.
> By-law No. 2104, “A By-law to Declare the Domestic Contentment of the Citizens,” deemed every marriage solemnized or registered within the City of Calgary to have been “a happy one as of the date of passing of this By-law,” .... Fergus Tait, the widower, voted against it again, and the minutes give his reason as “that I was happy, and I should like it to remain my own business.”
